Desafinado

Hallo!

Previously, on Heartland:

It has really hit me that I'm going to be doing a lot of moving around starting in less than a week! On thursday, I'm headed out to Montréal, and when I get back I have three weeks until I leave for California for my course (which I'm actually really getting excited for!!), and then when I get back, I have four days, and then I'm off to Europe!

Say What!?

Yes, I have booked my ticket!!!! I leave on April 6th at 1525, direct to London Gatwick at 0725 local time! I'm so excited. Then, I get to go into London (and attempt to figure out the "tube") to St. Pancras station, where I will take a TGV to Paris, and begin my grand adventure.

I'm so excited - I've never been on a train before (C-trains don't count...). And a TGV of all - gonna be so awesome! Hopefully I'm going to be in Paris around dinner time. I have decided that I'm going to book my first few days with a family on couchsurfing.com just so that I have some sort of base, and some locals who I can ask questions. This is after all, my first time really traveling, let alone traveling alone.

In other most fantastic news, I have acquired my backpack, tent, and sleeping bag. My backpack is herein named "Fred", and his parasitic twin "Dominique" (the conveniently detachable day-pack). I had all of my stuff set up in the living room, and when I came back from getting my mom some stuff for dinner, I found that my cats had totally taken over. Safi loves the tent, and Finn loves the backpack. Maybe I'm going to have to take them with me...

It's so strange how real this all feels all of a sudden. It's like - I'm actually going. It's going to be amazing.

Abbeys home for reading week too which is awesome. Yay sister! It was really fun to be listening to my mom read an article about Icelandic horses, while Abbey and dad were making faces at each other across the room.... or maybe you had to be there.

Well, dinner calls, so I must be on my way. Thanks for reading!

Ryley
